Ultralights "The whole 9 yards on show"
It's great to see that
ultralighters are finding more and more ways to spread the good word about
ultralighting.
I had a chance to review Richard Pobke's videotape of
Natfly 2003 called, appropriately, Natfly 2003. It doesn't beat being there, of
course, but it's a great way to have a record of just about everything there was
to see (indeed, even a few things I missed because they shot through so
quickly!).
In 75 minutes, the video gave a good overall taste of the
whole event, from the aircraft to the trade stalls to the aircraft to the
displays to the aircraft to the people to the aircraft to the accommodation and,
oh, did I mention the aircraft?
Even if you didn't want a copy for your
own records, especially if your aircraft features in it, the video has other
possible advantages as I see it.
If you know some ultralighters who have
thought of going to Natfly but have never been there, this would really whet
their appetite. But I think every school ought to have a copy tucked away for
visitor nights or to show prospective students.
Why? Well, mainly because
it catalogues such a wide range of aircraft and really gives the viewer an idea
of the depth of the AUF. Not to mention showing just what's on offer in terms of
aircraft.
Being there is the best thing, for sure. The next best thing is
seeing it in action footage, not photographic stills.
