The
Big Model Plane Story
This
is a story about the construction of a large model
aircraft for which the major components are
being purchased with a bottle of beer.--
The
plane is to be powered by a whipper snipper motor, (
the first bottle of beer purchase), and the two and
a half metre span foam core wings were purchased
with the second bottle of beer.
The
challenge is to get the whipper snipper motor to
perform well enough to power the model with a video
camera strapped on board. The model which is yet to
be named, is under construction at this time
and all important details will be shown on the
video.
Tail Wheel
Techniques
This production is
designed to explain the difference in handling
characteristics between tail
wheel and nose wheel aircraft.
In Australia we have
two models of the same aircraft, the Skyfox with
it's tail wheel, and a nose wheel version, named the
Gazelle. The Gazelle is quite easy to land but the
Skyfox is quite a different story. The ground handling of these two aircraft
clearly demonstrates the difference between the two
categories. This video should be of great value to
those wanting to better understand tail wheel
aircraft.
This space will be
updated when more information is available.
